Facing USA blockade, Camagüey impulses saving measures

February, 2020.- Given the current situation with the supply of fuel as a result of the criminal economic, financial and commercial blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba, electricity savings must be a concern for workers in the state and residential sectors.

Actions against the island include sanctions on vessels and companies involved in the transportation of fuel between Cuba and Venezuela, which constitute an act of extraterritoriality, interference and pride.

“Faced with attempts to change the regime in Venezuela, Washington goes to shameless lies to justify its increasingly aggressive behavior, ”Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez denounced at the time.

To avoid the lack of electrical service, it is essential to save and conceive an efficient and responsible use of energy.

It would be the effective and conscious response of the Camagüey’s labor movement to the indications of the President of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, with the implementation of initiatives in favor of saving.

The alternatives must be present in all workplaces, from the smallest to the entity that uses electricity the most.

The collaboration of workers in the non-state sector is also sought, given the importance of avoiding the excessive use of eclectic energy. (Photos: Cubadebate) (Translated by Linet Acuña Quilez)
