Campestre Casino, privileged space for Camagüey’s children

By Lázaro David Najarro Pujol / Radio Camagüey

February, 2020.- “For a dwarf prince this party is held”, thus wrote the National Hero of Cuba, José Martí, who titled Ismaelillo to the poem he published in The Golden Age, a book dedicated to those who know how to love.

The city of Camagüey has a beautiful setting where children can go to play accompanied by their parents, grandparents, brothers or relatives: the Casino Campestre.

It is the largest urban park in Cuba, there you can buy books and school supplies, coloring books and backpacks, among other options, because as the Apostle of Independence pointed out: “For children we work, because children are the ones who know how to love , because children are the hope of the world.

Children know more than it seems, and if they were told to write what they know, very good things they would write. ”

And the little princes in the Campestre Casino have a place to recreate and live with different attractions, as highlighted in the José Martí poem that states in one of its stanzas: “With your joy my blood In a band of colors …”

Camagüey’s infants gives the Campestre Casino: “The child must work, walk, study, be strong, be beautiful: the child can become beautiful even if it is ugly; A good, intelligent and neat child is always beautiful, ”Marti wrote.
