May, 2020.- The request to grant the Nobel Peace Prize to the International Contingent of Doctors Specialized in Disaster Situations and Serious Epidemics Henry Reeve is joined by various scientific and political personalities, and organizations in the world, taking into account that the Cuban doctors have saved thousands of lives in recent years and face the Covid-19 with disinterest and professionalism.

The Bolivarian Circle of Paris stands out among many other organizations, because it considers that Cuban doctors are an example in favor of peace and the life of human beings. In addition, it states that since 2005 they have provided “with dedication, professionalism, altruism and solidarity” to rescue the lives of human beings on different continents from major epidemics.

This was stated by the president of that French organization, Maigualida Rivas, who emphasized that “the women and men who formed and are forming these brigades have demonstrated their vocation to provide aid to the most needy populations on the planet in difficult times, the first reason for the Bolivarian Circle of Paris joins the international campaign that advocates the Nobel for Cuban doctors “.

The Prensa Latina agency reports that the Bolivarian Circle of Paris is one of around 30 organizations in France, Spain, Ireland and Italy that are part of a platform activated in late April to promote the application for the award of the Nobel Peace Prize for the solidarity doctors, nurses and health technicians of the Island.

In another of the Prensa Latina offices, it reported that, launched on April 28 by the associations Cuba Linda and Francia Cuba, the initiative has so far received the support of solidarity groups, political forces and unions from France, Spain, Ireland and Italy, and around a thousand Internet users on the Facebook page Prix Nobel de la paix pour les brigades medicles cubaines Henry Reeve.

He adds that some of the advocates of recognition of doctors who in countries on different continents care for human beings attacked by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus advocated expanding the campaign to an international committee.

The request is also supported by the Departmental Union of the General Confederation of Labor of France in the Bouches-du-Rhône, the Committee of Toulouse France Cuba, the Spanish Euskadi Cuba, Cuba Information TV and Communists of Catalonia and the Italian Associazione Umbra di Solidarietà Internazionalista con Cuba

Similarly, the spokesperson for the Puerto Rico Human Rights Committee (CPDH), Eduardo Villanueva Muñoz, confirmed that they have joined international demands for the nomination of the Nobel Peace Prize for the Cuban medical brigade “Henry Reeve”.

The statement published in the Puerto Rico Spokesperson specifies that Villanueva indicated that the organization, which fights for the preservation of human rights in the country, unanimously decided to support the initiative of the International Committee Peace, Justice and Dignity to the Peoples to support the nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize to the Cuban medical brigade for its high contribution to humanity in the confrontation with the pandemic caused by Covid-19.

In advance, on April 8 of this year, the Colombian magazine Primicia El Diario de Todos suggested that the Norwegian institute and other personalities and organizations around the world that award the Nobel Peace Prize would do justice if the Cuban medical contingent Henry Reeve were It will grant the important award for the humanitarian work it carries out in different continents in the face of natural disasters and serious epidemics.

Meanwhile, Cubadebate specified that the American organization Codepink requests that the Nobel Peace Prize be awarded to Cuban doctors for their fight against COVID-19 in many countries (26).

The feminist and pacifist group Codepink has called on the Nobel Peace Prize Committee to consider including Cuban doctors on this year’s list of candidates, even though the deadline for nominations has passed.

For this altruistic work on behalf of the peoples of the world who suffer epidemics and serious health problems, recognition of Cuban doctors multiplies every day.

Recently in his social account on Twitter, the Cuban Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, pointed out that “2,300 specialists from the island, in 26 Henry Reeve brigades, traveled to 24 countries to fight against the new disease.” (Photo: Prensa Latina).(Translated by Linet Acuña Quilez)
