Strengthening of the anti-vector campaign in Camagüey

Camagüey, Cuba, Jul 3.- Due to the increase in the rates of infestation of Aedes aegypti, a training course for the chains of command began in the province of Camagüey, aimed at strengthening the work of the members of the anti-vector campaign.

Yasnaya Prada Noy, deputy director of the Provincial Unit for Surveillance and Vector Control, commented that the course is aimed at promoting knowledge and epidemiological work in chiefs, supervisors and other individuals who can assume responsibilities in the areas of health.

Likewise, she informed that the improvement, which will be carried out with a weekly frequency, is led by the master in science Lorenzo Diéguez Fernández, provincial entomologist, and will also have the participation of other specialists in epidemiology.

Likewise, Prada Noy pointed out that the course is part of the actions carried out in the territory with regard to quality control at work, especially with regard to the supervisions carried out in the municipalities with the greatest impact.

The training course for chains of command that begins in the province of Camagüey is also included in the National Week to Combat the Mosquito, which runs from June 29 to July 4 to intensify the work aimed at reducing of vector infestation rates in the country.
