Cuban president leads government meeting in Villa Clara


Santa Clara, Cuba, Jan 25.- Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, President of the Republic of Cuba, together with José Ramón Machado Ventura, second secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party, today leads a meeting with leaders of the province of Villa Clara, in order to review and verify the development of important topics of interest for this central territory and for the country in general.

In the work group that checks issues related to the confrontation with COVID-19 in the territory, the Ordering Task, food production and the operation against collectors and resellers, the participation of Manuel Marrero Cruz, Prime Minister, also stands out.

Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez is accompanied by other important authorities of public health, education, agriculture, economy and other core areas that constitute the basis for the advancement of the country.

Alberto López Díaz, Vice President of the Defense Council in Villa Clara, began to present a summary in which he highlights the performance of the province in the confrontation with the re-outbreak of COVID-19, the conditions that the territory has to face the pandemic, the sufficient capacities for medical care that exist, the reinforcement of the active investigation, the reorganization of the medical services to care for suspected cases and also listed the causes that caused the decline of the 13 municipalities in the fight against SARS-CoV-2.

This is the sixth work exchange of the team headed by the Cuban President, which travels the country’s provinces in constant evaluation of priority issues.
