July, 2021.- “All my support for the words of the President of Cuba, Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermúdez (first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba).

When you are born in a beautiful country where you grew up, graduate and receive the most beautiful things that can be provided to a human being, you have to do an analysis of life”, reflected the singer, composer, musician and dancer from Camagüey Wilmer Joel Ferrán. The creator questioned those who adhere to the discrediting campaigns and the vile political-communicational operation deployed against the Caribbean country, with the purpose of overthrowing the Revolution.

He condemned the actions of vandalism, looting and contempt of mercenaries, worms and antisocials. He rejected US interference in the internal affairs of the nation.

Wilmer is the director of the Camagüey group Rumbatá, a cast, with rhythms and instruments that do not deviate from the authentic rumba. The group reaches national and international stages with a contemporary way of defending this genre with Afro-Cuban roots.

Joel Ferrán considered that “at a time when the Greater Antilles and the whole world are hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, we are in moments of solidarity and not disunity, of cheap separatism, of founding an ideology that does not exists. We are in time to think, to consider all the people working, in the scientists who are in charge of countering the new strain of the coronavirus.

This is a country of Revolution that deserves to be respected and admired by all humanity. I do not agree with the disrespect for the authorities, I am against the violence and hatred unleashed from abroad to disunite Cubans.

We artists respond in favor of the Revolution from our trenches, from the rumba and whenever it is necessary to take up arms, we are here as independent men and human beings. We are ready for anything!”

Cuba is the target of an unconventional war that includes the use of sophisticated technologies and the dissemination of false news to generate disorder, instability and protests, such as those that occurred on July 11, authorities and specialists denounced on the island.

More than 100,000 people went to the Havana Malecón to show their unconditional support for the Cuban social system, authenticated in the new Constitution of the Republic by the vast majority of the people.

Also in Camagüey and in several Cuban cities, acts were carried out to condemn the vandalism and demand the end of the blockade of Washington, considered the main obstacle to the development of the Caribbean island. (Photos by the author) (Translated by Linet Acuña Quilez)
