Cuba exceptional values ​​for: World Heritage and Dignity Award (+ Photos)

July 2021.- The island of Cuba has enough exceptional universal values ​​to be declared a World Heritage Site and Prize of Dignity.

Despite the economic, financial and commercial blockade imposed by the United States of America for more than six decades, the largest of the Antilles against winds and hurricanes has preserved its architectural, natural heritage and the sovereignty that is to preserve its cultural roots and its history.

Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador in a speech delivered at the emblematic Castle of Chapultepec for the 238th anniversary of the birth of Simón Bolívar requested to designate Cuba a World Heritage Site for its 62-year resistance to the United States and to decorate the people with the Prize of Dignity.

Despite the siege, the island is an example in cultural, sports, scientific and social development. It ranks first in the Caribbean and fourth in Latin America with the most sites inscribed on the world heritage list.

In addition to conserving their heritage, the Cuban people have stood firm in the face of the obstacles imposed by successive administrations of the United States.

In response to the smear campaigns orchestrated from the United States and destabilizing actions promoted from that northern power with the purpose of subverting the revolutionary process in the island, with the complicity of large mass media in the world, a broad movement of support for the Caribbean island, when solidarity people marched over the weekend in about 40 cities in 28 countries to demand the lifting of the United States blockade of Cuba.

Sufficient merit has the Pearl of the Antilles to deserve the status of World Heritage Site and Prize of Dignity, proposals of the Mexican president endorsed by hundreds of people.

In the patrimonial order, it has been distinguished by the United Nations for having natural reserves, the biosphere, natural landscapes, national parks and virgin protected areas, in addition to its immaterial potential.

It proudly possesses an almost unique capital in the region, reflected in the first eight founding towns, which preserve their original architecture and other cities and sites declared Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Special attention is paid to the protection of the environment through the scientific project of the Sabana-Camagüey archipelago, started in 1993, co-financed by the World Environment Fund, the United Nations Development Program and the Cuban government.

For the inscription, UNESCO requires four essential elements: exceptional universal value, authenticity, integrity and comparative analysis, aspects palpable throughout this green Cayman.
