The Committees for the Defense of the Revolution are strong

Camagüey, Cuba, Sep 21.- If Juan de Dios Abreu Venecia had to be given a word that would characterize him, it would be strength, perhaps because it is an adjective that he usually uses, although only when the occasion warrants it.

This is how this 72-year-old Camagüey describes the work of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR) at the present time, since he recognizes the leadership of the organization in the confrontation with COVID-19.

At his age, nothing in him stops acting as a grassroots leader of the largest mass organization in the country, and in the Juruquey neighborhood of the City of Tinajones he is one of the mainstays in community work.

Juan de Dios Abreu is one of those from Camagüey’s citizens who puts his heart into everything he does, one of the first to respond to the call of the homeland, of the faces that make up the history of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution 61 years of being founded.
