Vaccination campaign continues in the Camagüey town of San Serapio

Camagüey, Cuba, Oct 20.- The vaccination campaign against COVID-19 continued in the Camagüey’s town of San Serapio with the application of the second dose of Soberana 02 to the third group of the pediatric population.

Some 130 infants from two to 11 years of age went with their parents to the Isidoro Armentero Muñoz primary school, which has been enabled since July as a vaccination site for the benefit of all the inhabitants of that Camagüey town.

The care of the health protocols by all those involved in the process and the support of the health personnel, together with the members of the community work group and entities of the Altagracia Popular Council, facilitated the immunization of the children.

Within 28 days, the third group of the pediatric population will complete the vaccination schedule when they receive the dose of Soberana Plus, before returning to the classrooms to continue the school year in person.

In the province, more than 90.0 percent of the planned population has a dose of the Cuban anti COVID-19 vaccines and the completion of the immunization process is expected before the end of the year. (Text and photos: Diosmel Galano Oliver/Radio Camagüey) (Translated by Linet Acuña Quilez)
