Actions to reduce environmental degradation are carried out in Camagüey

Camagüey, Cuba, Jul 5.- Guaranteeing economic growth through the rational use of natural resources and the reduction of environmental degradation, is among the lines of work of the science sector in the province of Camagüey, as part of Territorial Environmental Strategy until 2025.

Lisbet Font Vila, deputy delegate of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment (CITMA) in the demarcation, commented that it works to promote the sustainable management of forests, increase afforestation and reforestation and reduce the introduction and impact of invasive alien species in terrestrial and marine ecosystems.

Camagüey’s science means pride

June, 2021.- The scope of Cuban science is a source of satisfaction in the country in other latitudes, especially now when two of the anti-COVID-19 vaccine candidates, Soberana 02 and Abdala, greatly exceeded the efficacy parameters established by the World Health Organization for this type of Research.

The actions of the island’s scientists are crucial in confronting the new SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, from the development of the five vaccine candidates that the nation has to updating the protocols for the treatment of those confirmed, where various drugs from the national industry are used.

Camagüey, Cuba, Jun 8.- To the results of the Nature Photography Contest Verde que te quiero verde 2021, which is sponsored every year by the Ignacio Agramonte Provincial Museum of Camagüey, there were dedicated the pages 12, 13, 14, 15 and the back cover of its number 1057 of the Colombian magazine Primicia Diario published in Bogotá.

With the title In Cuba: NATURE PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST 2021, the publication publishes not only the awards and mentions but also participants who stood out for their valuable collection of snapshots of a contest that is dedicated to World Environment Day, which is celebrated every June 5th.
