The national economy needs productive chains

Cienfuegos, Cuba, Jan 18.– The importance of production to substitute imports, and the integration of domestic industry via productive chains, was emphasized on several occasions by the President of Cuba’s Councils of State and Ministers, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, during a tour of the producer and distributor of glucose, starch and derivatives of corn, Gydema (known nationally as the Glucose Factory), as part of his government visit to the province, which began yesterday.

The Cuban leader noted the potential of the plant – the only one of its kind in Cuba – and the attention to detail evident here, and called for efforts to ensure greater presence of its products in tourist facilities and retail stores, to generate income and avoid foreign currency expenditures. Díaz-Canel dialogues with residents of Florida, Camagüey

Florida, Cuba, Oct 18.- The President of the Councils of State and of Ministers of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, spoke with inhabitants of this municipality in the High School Lope Recio Loynaz, in the General Hospital Manuel Piti Fajardo and with whom to the departure from both institutions they waited to greet him.

The Florida´s inhabitants who were waiting for him on the central highway to his departure to the city of Camagüey urged them to continue working with the spirit with which they had undertaken various works on the occasion of the celebration in the municipality of the central activities by the July 26th. He commented that he had appreciated the boulevard and knew of the stadium and the efforts to improve the technological conditions to take advantage of the productions of the new ice cream factory.
