In Camagüey temple: Universal heritage relics

September, 2021.- The Temple of Our Lady of Mercy in Camagüey is one of the most visited architectural works by places and foreigners. It is located in the Plaza de los Trabajadores, in the historic center declared by UNESCO as a Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

The first building was built in 1601 by friars of the Mercedarian order, who currently serve it. It was a hermitage of wood and guano dedicated to Our Lady of Altagracia, donated by Juan Griego, a neighbor of the town. Leer más de esta entrada
